The 1-day workshop is designed to increase the confidence and competence of people working as a member of the CIMS Welfare function. This course will cover all of Welfare’s roles and responsibilities, including the two sub-functions – Needs Assessment and Welfare Delivery Coordination. Recent events such as the response to COVID-19, the Plimmerton Floods and Nelson Fires may be used as case studies. At the completion of this course participants will have a good understanding of the different roles and responsibilities of the Welfare function, as well as being able to lead or support the Needs Assessment process and coordination of emergency Welfare support to communities impacted by an emergency.
